The technique that emphasizes cooperative learning in vocabulary instruction is group projects and peer assistance. This method encourages students to work together to explore vocabulary concepts, share insights, and develop a deeper understanding of new words. By collaborating with peers, students can engage in discussions, clarify meanings, and relate vocabulary to their experiences, enhancing retention and comprehension.

Group projects foster a sense of community and support among students, allowing them to learn from each other’s perspectives and strategies. This type of cooperative learning can also make the process of acquiring vocabulary more engaging and enjoyable, as students participate actively in their learning rather than passively receiving information.

Other methods, such as traditional lectures, individual assignments, and standardized testing, do not promote the same level of interaction between students. They often focus on independent learning or assessment, which does not facilitate the collaborative environment that is crucial for cooperative learning in vocabulary instruction.
